Villa Jerada | Urfa Biber – 50g

Ever wonder what gives dishes that intriguing smoky heat? It might just be Urfa Biber, a Turkish chili flake that’s so much more than just heat. The brand dries mild red peppers in the sun, wraps them up tight, and then lets the moon work its magic. We think the result is a raisin-like perfection, with dark purple hues that add a complex, approachable smokiness to just about anything.

We think Urfa Biber is one of the most complex peppers around, and we’re not alone. Chefs love its spicy, sweet, smoky flavor and the acidity it brings to foods. Sprinkle it on scrambled eggs, whip it into ricotta with pita, or mix it with mayo for a smoked oyster tartine. You’ll find a million ways to use it!
